Affiliation: Professor, Pharmacogenomics, Director, Pharmacogenomics Holsclaw Endowed Professorship, Pharmacogenomics University of Arizona

Event Details: Dr. Chen received Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology and Biochemistry from Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, and postdoctoral training in the Division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of California Berkeley.  She was recruited to the College of Pharmacy University of Arizona in 2019 as the Holsclaw Endowed Professor and Director of Pharmacogenomics.  Her laboratory has been funded by NIH grants and has trained 23 postdoctoral fellows and 17 Ph.D. students.  Dr. Chen is well recognized in the field of oxidative stress, and has pioneered the discoveries of stress induced senescence, stress induced cardiac hypertrophy and cell survival responses involving de novo protein translation.  She has expanded her research programs to clinical arena by collaborating with computational statisticians and bioinformaticians for discovery of genetic elements contributing to human diseases and variations in drug response.

The Spring 2024 Series will be in-person (in MUFW 136) and/or live-streamed. All sessions will be recorded. To access a recording of the session, please contact Dr. Wei Lei (wlei@99xina.com)
